What is Heidi's Healthy Canasta?

It is a food-buying club for Bronx residents to have access to fresh, affordable, and healthy produce. It can be delivered* weekly or bi-weekly. *In order for delivery to your location or site, at least 5 participants must have signed up and bags purchased.

What do I receive?

You will receive a bag of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein (beans) that is purchased fresh the week of delivery from the Hunts Point Market* in The Bronx. Each Canasta contains 8-10 products that can supplement meals throughout the week. The graphics below provide the lists for each week.** The produce changes each week following this schedule. Produce is subject to change depending on availability and season. *The Hunts Point Market is the largest produce market in the United States, accepting food coming from many countries. We source from the Hunts Point Market outside of our growing season to fill in the gap in our communities. Ensuring that Bronx residents still have access to fresh, healthy, affordable produce. **Produce is subject to change depending on availability and season.

How much does it cost?

The price of Canasta ranges from $15, $18, or $20; you can choose a price that best fits your income bracket and that best represents your household. To see which bracket you're household falls into, take a look at the chart below: Heidi's Healthy Canasta accepts: EBT/SNAP*, Credit/Debit, PayPal, or Cash. *If you are buying a Canasta or Canastas and are paying with EBT/SNAP, you only have to pay $15 for your bag. If you are buying a Canasta bag using another form of payment, you can choose from the three payment options that best suit your family and income. Payment can be made online using PayPal or in person using Square.

You need to confirm weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your delivery option. After you confirm, we will send you a private link to make a payment.
